Published: March 2, 2013

Police arrested a man who they allege had an illegal drug known as bath salts in Fort Mill on Wednesday, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to Quail Ridge Lane after neighbors reported that people with flashlights were outside a house no one has lived in for two weeks, the report states.

Justin Randolph Gerow, 29, of Fort Mill, was sitting in the driver’s seat of a truck parked outside the home when deputies arrived, according to the report.

Gerow “wasn’t making much sense with what he was saying and appeared to be high,” the report states.

Deputies say the man had a small plastic jar with bath salts inside, according to the report.

Gerow told police the substance was not bath salts but a powder for coffee that can be purchased at convenience stores, the report states.

Police arrested Gerow for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to the report.
