Police: Boy, 10, had knife at Rock Hill school

Published: March 4, 2013

Richmond Drive Elementary School officials sent a 10-year-old student home last week after discovering he had a small paring knife in his lunch box, according to a Rock Hill police report.

No criminal charges were filed, the report states, but the child was disciplined and sent home with his parent.

The principal told police that another student reported seeing the knife in the child’s lunchbox.

The 10-year-old told the principal his older brother put the small knife in his lunchbox at home, the report states.

School officials disposed of the knife.
