Congratulations to Coach Pat Kelsey and his Winthrop Eagles for another great season of Winthrop basketball. They have won some and lost some, but every game has been played with heart, courage and determination.

To the seniors on the team I will say that if you approach the next chapter of your life as you have done being part of the Winthrop Eagles, you will succeed in all that you do. I wish you Godspeed. For those returning next year; you have much to look forward to and I hope that you continue to strive to reach your academic and team goals.

To the Rock Hill community, let me say that if you have not become a part of the Winthrop athletic “family” by joining the Eagle Club or at least come out to support the team or teams of your choice, you are missing a wonderfully entertaining opportunity.

I happen to be a men’s basketball fan, but there is a Winthrop sport and an equally talented team to suit every individual taste, and they all respond to the roar of a supportive crowd. I encourage you to come out and support Winthrop athletics!
