Government could learn from School of Cardinals

Published: March 6, 2013

I am not Catholic, but our government could find an example in the School of Cardinals election of a new pope.

We have gone through four years of this administration without a national budget. It seems that if all representatives of government who are responsible for the budget, including the president, were to lock themselves in a large room in silence except for prayer to the Almighty, that afterward we would see the sign of success, the white smoke of burning ballots. With the ballots burned, the voters would be protected from the pressure of party rule.

I long for the day when our elected representatives vote for the best for this great nation.
