Winthrop University is one of 15 South Carolina colleges recognized this week for its campus’ commitment to community service.
The American Council on Education named Winthrop among 690 institutions on its annual President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
The designation is “one of the highest honors a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement,” according to a Winthrop news release.
This is the eighth time Winthrop has been selected for inclusion in the honor roll.
