Published: March 9, 2013

— A Rock Hill woman was sentenced to a year of house arrest late Friday after a York County jury found her guilty of third-degree arson following a week-long trial, prosecutors with the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.

Stacy Sindell was convicted of setting her Welborn Street home on fire, as well as a count of insurance fraud.

The incident happened in September 2011 and caused about $300,000 in damage to the home in the Fairlawn Villas subdivision near Herlong Avenue.

A 10 year prison sentence was suspended to five years probation, prosecutors said.
