ROCK HILL — Longtime Rock Hill workers compensation lawyer Luke Elrod, a legendary fighter for injured workers, died Sunday at age 69 after a battle with cancer.
Elrod, who practiced in Rock Hill for more than three decades and in recent years formed the Elrod-Pope firm with former prosecutor and current state representative Tommy Pope, came from a generation of lawyers who served people first, said longtime law partner Jack Leader.
Most of his clients came from word of mouth, at the shift change at the Bleachery or the Celanese plant, said Leader. He fought for people who were hurt.
