CHESTER A small fire that burned inside a Chester home Sunday might have been intentionally set, police say.
Around 7 p.m., deputies were sent to 865 Yarborough Road after county firefighters in the West Chester area extinguished the flames inside a bedroom, according to a Chester County Sheriff’s report.
When police arrived on scene, they saw a window leading to the bedroom closest to the driveway had been busted out by bricks. There, police say someone poured several accelerants inside the bedroom and outside the window, said Maj. Mary Anne Tolbert with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire was small, Tolbert said, and smoldered out after several minutes but still caused $10,000 worth of damage.
The homeowner, a 33-year-old man who lives in Bostic, N.C., moved out of Chester County about three weeks ago, Tolbert said.
