ROCK HILL — A Rock Hill High School student was charged after police say he brought a BB gun to school on Monday.
Deputies were called to the school around 10:30 a.m. after learning a student might be carrying weapons on school grounds, according to a York County Sheriff’s report.
Someone gave the school’s resource officer two Facebook photos that showed Dionte Robinson, 17, flashing gang signs and holding a handgun, according to a York County Sheriff’s report.
School officials escorted Robinson to the office, where they found a black BB gun, along with a BB cartridge and three BB’s, in his book bag and jacket pocket.
Robinson was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon on school property. He was released from the York County Detention Center Tuesday on a $3,000 bond.
