Winthrop University is welcoming its next round of freshmen by asking supporters around the world to don garnet and gold on Saturday.

The campus will host “Worldwide Winthrop Day” on Saturday to showcase its academic programs, residence halls and activities for admitted students.

The university wants students, alumni, parents, friends and faculty and staff members to wear Winthrop apparel and send in pictures from wherever they are in the world for Saturday's celebration.

Winthrop plans to hold activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday to celebrate “Worldwide Winthrop Day” on the Campus Green near the DiGiorgio Campus Center.
