ROCK HILL — Police have issued arrest warrants charging a Rock Hill teenager with assault and battery after he allegedly beat up a younger teen and posted a video of the fight on Facebook.
The mother of a 15-year-old boy flagged down police at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Roddey Street on Monday, and told them a 17-year--old boy had assaulted her son on Roddey Street, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
She told police the boy had been bullying her son at school and in the neighborhood for the past few days before it escalated into a brawl, the report states. The mother showed officers a video of the fight posted on Facebook, which shows the older boy punching the younger boy while he was on the ground, hitting him in the face and head.
The end of the video shows the 17-year-old letting the boy up from the ground before knocking him back down, the report states. Police used DMV records to identify the attacker, who will be charged with third-degree assault and battery once he’s found.
The younger boy suffered a cut over his right eye and a large knot under his left eye, the report states.
The 17-year-old boy hasn’t been arrested yet and police are still investigating, said Rock Hill Police Executive Officer Mark Bollinger.
