High school roundup: Clover beats South Pointe for 12th region softball win

Blake Wallert tossed a complete game three-hitter and the Clover Lady Blue Eagles collected nine hits to defeat South Pointe in a Region 3-AAAA softball game Thursday night.

Emily Robinson had three hits and drove in a run to lead Clover at the plate. The win kept the Lady Blue Eagles perfect at 12-0 in region play.

The Northwestern Lady Trojans scored on penalty kicks to earn a 2-1 win over Clover in Region 3-AAAA action.

Madeline Ramsey scored the only goal for the Lady Trojans with an assist from Lauren Watts. Ramsey, Watts, Rachel Gregoire, and Kristen Curley all scored penalty kicks for Northwestern as they improved to 7-0 in region play.
