Police: Rock Hill man flees bondsman, leaves 4-year-old daughter behind

Staff reportsApril 12, 2013

— A Rock Hill man considered a fugitive in North Carolina left his 4-year-old daughter behind unattended in a mobile home to flee from a bail bondsman, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

John Arden Fisher, 38, of 2159 Porter Road, was charged with one count of unlawful neglect of a child.

According to the report, the bail bondsman went to the home at about 11 a.m. Thursday to look for Fisher after he learned that he had moved from the Charlotte home where he was supposed to be living under the terms of his bond.

When the bondsman got out of his car and asked Fisher to come talk to him, the report states, Fisher ran away. Deputies using tracking dogs later found him hiding in the yard of a nearby home.

After Fisher fled, his 4-year-old daughter walked out of the mobile home, the report states. She and her 7-year-old sister, who was at school during the incident, were taken into emergency protective custody and placed with the state Department of Social Services.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department held a warrant for Fisher’s arrest, but the report does not say what charge he was wanted on in North Carolina.
