— Rock Hill police arrested a man early Friday morning after he held his girlfriend in his home for 48 hours against her will, according to a police report.

The woman, 43, called police just after midnight Thursday to say she was being assaulted and that her boyfriend was preventing her from leaving his house, the report states.

When officers arrived, they say Alphonso James Jr., 43, answered the door on Keels Avenue and told them no one else was in the house.

Police asked to come inside where they found the girlfriend hiding behind a door, the report states.

The woman had multiple bruises and swelling on her face, according to the report. She told police James assaulted her and had not let her leave the house since Tuesday.

Police charged James with first-offense criminal domestic violence, simple assault and kidnapping, according to the report.
