High school roundup: Rock Hill beats Dorman in softball playoffs

Macey Brazzell pitched a complete game and scattered six hits and the Rock Hill Lady Bearcats defeated the Dorman Lady Cavaliers in the Class AAAA playoffs Friday night in Rock Hill.

While Brazzell was silencing the Dorman bats, Noelle McCullough, Alexis Ervin and Paige Love were leading the Rock Hill hitting attack.

Clover 8, Hillcrest 5

Marissa Harkey and Madison Tepfenhart each hit a home run to lead the Clover Lady Blue Eagles to an 8-5 win over the Hillcrest Lady Rams in the Class AAAA playoffs.

Elizabeth Edmunds pitched a complete game and picked up the victory to improve to 21-4 on the season.

Clover will play again on Wednesday against the winner of the Hillcrest-Mauldin game.

Cara Pennington scored three goals and led the Northwestern Lady Trojans to an 8-1 win over the Rock Hill Lady Bearcats in Region 3-AAAA play.

Northwestern goals - Cara Pennington 3, Lauren Watts 1, Whitney Hunt 1, Ashli Siggins 1, Helen Moore 1, Madeleine Ramsey 1.

Northwestern assists - Madeleine Ramsey 3, Whitney Hunt 2, Helena Moore 1, Haley Blythe 1.

Records: Northwestern 14-4, 12-0 in Region 3-AAAA


Girls Soccer

Indian Land 9, Monroe 0

Katherine Kilroy scored four goals and handed out four assists to lead the third-ranked Indian Land Lady Warriors to a win over Monroe on Thursday night.

Shalyn Dougherty added three goals, while Raquel Addamo scored twice. Dougherty and Addamo each added a pair of assists.

Indian Land had 20 shots on goal, while Monroe managed only one. The victory improved Indian Land to 11-4 overall, while Monroe fell to 2-11 with the loss.
