Irmo eliminates South Pointe in AAAA boys’ soccer playoffs

Irmo worked a 2-0 lead at halftime into a 4-0 shutout of the South Pointe Stallions in boys’ soccer Class AAAA playoff action Tuesday.

Chris Best scored in the 1st minute, followed by Preston Graczyk’s goal four minutes later, in the 5th minute. In the second half, Weston Garner scored in the 48th and Edwin Garcia added the final goal in the 55th minute.

The Stallions outshot Irmo, 17-14, and South Pointe keeper Clay Bell made five saves, compared to Hunter Wages’ nine for Irmo.

Irmo will play host to the T.L. Hanna-Mauldin winner.
