Store clerk injured in Lancaster armed robbery

— Deputies are searching for two men accused of robbing a Lancaster convenience store at gunpoint, assaulting the clerk and getting away with cash.

At about 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, deputies went to the Antioch Grocery, 2702 Flat Creek Road, on reports of an armed robbery, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

The clerk told deputies two men entered the store with a handgun. One of the men jumped behind the counter and hit the clerk in the head, a press release states. The men demanded money and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A witness in the parking lot told police that the men got into a car parked in a driveway several houses down, the release states, and sped down S.C. 903 toward Lancaster.

The clerk suffered minor injuries, the release states. No other injuries were reported.
