A Rock Hill man was charged Tuesday night with unlawful conduct toward a child after he spanked a 2-year-old girl and left red marks on her body, according to a police report.

Police say Steffan Marc Isenhoward, 25, admitted to spanking the girl “because she got into her wipes,” the report states.

The girl’s mother, 22, was outside having a cigarette when she heard her daughter screaming around 8:15 p.m., she told police.

Inside, the mother saw her husband spanking the child and saw red marks on the girl’s buttocks, according to the report.

She told her husband that the spanking “was too much for a 2-year-old” and she took photos of the red marks to show police, the report states.

Police say Isenhoward was arrested due to the severity of the girl’s injuries, according to the report.
