ROCK HILL — A South Pointe High School student was charged last week after police say he brought alcohol to school in a water bottle.
A school resource officer was patrolling the student parking lot on Friday when he saw a boy, 17, go into the trunk of his car and take out a water bottle with a clear liquid inside, according to a Rock Hill police report.
The boy handed the bottle to another student, who sniffed the bottle before drinking the liquid, the report states.
The resource officer took the boy to the school office, where administrators found the bottle in his book bag, the report states.
Police charged the teen with minor in possession of liquor under 21, and he was sent home, according to the report.
