— A Tega Cay man responsible for cleaning the Lake Wylie branch of the YMCA overnight was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he installed a camera in the women’s locker room.

John Ross Eddy, 58, of 4085 Alana Court, is charged with peeping voyeurism/aggravated voyeurism, according to a news release from the York County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, the YMCA branch manager on Wednesday found a small camera in the women’s locker room.

Sheriff’s detectives sifted through the files and saw that Eddy recorded himself setting up the camera in the locker room, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris. The files on the camera date back to May.

Eddy, according to police, cleans the facility during overnight hours. Deputies are still investigating and expect to file more charges.

Police would not say if Eddy possibly installed more cameras throughout the facility, or where he got the equipment.

Those details are “part of the investigation,” said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris.

Eddy has no prior criminal history in South Carolina, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.
