Chester County authorities have arrested a man they say took a money bag from a Burger King after robbing the restaurant at gunpoint Thursday night and pushing an employee into a refrigerator.
David Lee Cunningham, 38, of Chester will be charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the robbery, according to a news release from the Chester County Sheriffs Office.
The robbery happened just before midnight at the Burger King on J.A. Cochran Bypass, deputies say.
Cunningham threw a rock through a door to get inside the restaurant, according to the news release.
He ordered one employee to the money safe and pushed another employee into the restaurants fridge, the release states.
He fled on foot through nearby yards after employees surrendered the money bag, according to deputies.
The York County Sheriffs Office K-9 tracking team helped in the robbery investigation.
The sheriff's office stopped a car in the area where the K-9 unit tracked Cunningham, the release states.
