Police: Juvenile takes two sips of slushy, flees store

June 15, 2013

— A Lake Wylie convenience store clerk reported to police that a juvenile told her “You better take Wal-Mart gift cards” when she told him he had to pay for a slushy after he took two sips from it, according to a police report.

The clerk at the Times Turnaround on S.C. 49 told deputies with the York County Sheriff’s office that the juvenile rode up to the store on his bicycle, filled up a slushy drink, then tried to leave before paying.

Deputies watched the surveillance tape and saw the juvenile leave on his bicycle.
