— A Rock Hill man with “bloodshot red” eyes told police that a woman sprayed mace in his face after she refused to pick him up from a prostitute’s trailer on Sunday.

At about 7:20 p.m., police were called to the intersection of West Main and Allen Streets after receiving complaints about an assault, according to a Rock Hill police report. A man, 47, told them a woman, 29, used the defensive spray on him.

Police spoke with the woman, who said the man left his car parked in front of her house overnight while he went to Brownstone Road, off Finley Road, to “purchase a prostitute,” the report states. The prostitute called the woman on Sunday and told her to pick the man up from her trailer.

The woman refused because she did not have a valid driver’s license, the report states. The man went to the woman’s house anyway and began arguing with her before threatening her and her guest.

A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, told police the man was “carrying on, threatening everybody next door,” the report states. The woman told the man to leave, but he refused. She then grabbed a can of mace and sprayed the man in the face before she called EMS.

Police informed the man of the state’s protection of persons and property act, which enables a homeowner to defend himself when attacked on his property. No charges were filed.
