Lancaster police have arrested a Rock Hill man in connection with an armed robbery that took place at Walmart on Monday morning.

Lancaster police have arrested a Rock Hill man in connection with an armed robbery that happened at the Walmart on S.C. 9 Bypass West on Monday morning.

Malcolm Shaquille Williams, 18, was arrested on Tuesday evening after turning himself in, according to a news release from Lancaster Police sent Wednesday afternoon.

Williams was charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime, the release states.

A Charlotte man told police earlier this week that two men robbed him at gunpoint in the Walmart parking lot on Monday around 11 a.m.

They took cash and the victim’s wallet, keys and two GPS systems before running away, police said.

The man arranged to meet at the Walmart in response to a Craigslist ad about a vehicle for sale. He was supposed to be giving the seller the down payment, police said.

The robbery is still under investigation and more arrests are on the way, said Capt. Scott Grant with Lancaster Police.

Police said earlier this week that a third man was suspected of driving a getaway car.

Anyone with any information concerning this incident is requested to contact the Lancaster Police Department at 803-283-1173 or the anonymous tip line at 803-289-6040.
