Authorities want help in identifying a man they say tried to break into the Xpress Lube store on Filbert Highway in York last month.

The incident happened June 30, according to a news release from the York County Sheriff’s Office sent Thursday afternoon.

Surveillance video from the store shows a man wearing a ball cap, t-shirt and plaid shorts trying to enter the building around 4:15 a.m., the release states.

The man was by himself and left on foot.

The man is believed to have damaged aluminum on the building and siding to a compressor room, according to the release.

Police say he did not take anything during the attempted break-in.

If anyone has information that can help investigators in this case they are asked to contact Detective Kelly Lovelace with the York County Sheriff’s Office or call Crime Stoppers at 1-877-409-4321.

The sheriff’s office has released photos and video from the incident.
