Rock Hill man dies in I-77 crash near Fort Mill

— A Rock Hill man was killed Saturday night in a two-car collision on Interstate 77 near Fort Mill, according to the Highway Patrol.

Hector Bono, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries suffered in the accident.

Bono was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Highway Patrol, but still was ejected from the seat of his 1999 Ford.

The driver and a passenger in the other car, a 2000 Toyota, were uninjured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said results of a toxicology test on the victim will be complete in a few weeks.
