— Shots were fired at a Rock Hill apartment complex late Sunday, sending bullets flying into an apartment just inches away from a woman who was sitting on the floor, according to police.

At about 11 p.m., officers were sent to a Mallard Pointe apartment and spoke with a man who told them he heard two gunshots go off near his apartment, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Another man told police that as he was driving into the complex, he saw two men jump into a 1990s model Pontiac Grand Am and drive away in a hurry, the report states. A third man told police he and his wife were sitting in their apartment when they heard the gunshots and then saw something hit their patio sliding glass door.

Police found a bullet on their patio, the report states.

Two women told police that while they were in their living room, a bullet flew through their wall and landed on the floor, the report states. One of the women said she was sitting on the floor when the bullet came through the wall and landed beside her just inches away.

Police do not believe any of the neighbors complaining about the bullets were intended targets, said Executive Officer Mark Bollinger of the Rock Hill Police Department.

Police, he said, would continue investigating on Monday.
