With less than two weeks to go until the first day of school, school supplies for students in need in the Rock Hill school district will be distributed from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, or as long as supplies last.

The distribution will be at the Rock Hill Flexible Learning Center, 1234 Flint St. Extension.

For the past few weeks, community members have had the opportunity to donate school supplies to Rock Hill and schools in Clover, Chester, York and Fort Mill. And there’s still time to donate.

The annual school supply drive is a partnership between The Herald and its sister community newspapers – Fort Mill Times, Enquirer-Herald and Lake Wylie Pilot – and the school districts in York, Chester and Lancaster counties. The drive will continue through next week.

At the Rock Hill distribution, supplies will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis to students in need. Volunteers will assist with filling backpacks with supplies and giving them to students who come to the event.
