In response to Kathy Thomas’ recent letter to the editor, “Put Christians in more positive light,” I am not exactly sure what The Herald has done to prove her “point.” Since she took the time to write a letter to the editor, I can only assume she is a subscriber, and therefore might be aware of the weekly section in the paper called “Faith and Family,” which touts the great work of the (almost entirely) Christian community in our area.
Apparently the fact that The Herald reported on the celebration of Ramadan in Rock Hill amounts to “propaganda.” I thought that writing a story about a local occurrence was called “reporting.”
Secondly, regarding her “point,” why is her Christian faith so easily offended by the simple reporting of a story of members of another religion? Are not these members of our community “turning back to God” as she hopes? Here are some concepts for thought: Love. Tolerance. Other people.
Look into it.
