Water outage planned for 200 Rock Hill customers

August 16, 2013

Nearly 200 Rock Hill utility customers will not have water for five hours Sunday as workers repair a water main near 2400 W. Main St.

Officials expect the work will require shutting off the water for some customers between 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday.

The water outage will affect residents in Rawlinson Acres II, the Epiphany Lutheran Church, the Career Development Center and the Exxon station at the corner of West Main Street and Meadowlark Drive.

The construction work also will impact the flow of traffic in the area.

City officials say the work was scheduled for the weekend to minimize impact to the area after students return to school next week. The work could not be done on Saturday because of the forecast of inclement weather, according to a Rock Hill news release.
