The minimum wage is always a controversial subject, but I am a retired restaurant manager. Almost all of my new hires were in the 16- to 18-year-old age bracket.
I loved training young high school students to do a job. If I had to pay the minimum wage the Democrats want, then I could not hire teenagers.
My teenagers learned what hard work meant. I passed on lessons I learned as a teenager to mine. Don't raise the minimum wage that fast. It will worsen the teenage unemployment problem.
I used a 50-50 mix in my hiring packages, and the older members of the crew made more money. I rewarded hard work and that is true of most managers. Those who don't fail.
