Police seek help identifying Lake Wylie robber (+ surveillance video)

On August 24, 2013 a man robbed the Kangaroo Express gas station at 4568 Charlotte Highway in Lake Wylie. The suspect displayed to the clerk a black hand gun and robbed the business of money and a case of beer. The York County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help identifying the man who robbed the Kangaroo Express gas station in Lake Wylie on Saturday.

Authorities released surveillance video with some audio taken of the suspect, who threatened the clerk with a back handgun at the store at 4568 Charlotte Highway.

According to a police report, the robber made his way to the counter with a 12-pack of Corona beer and said, “I will take the beer and all the money in the register.”

He took $104 in cash and the beer.

Anyone with information about the robber or the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 803-628-3059 or Crime Stoppers at 877-409-4321.
