The Aug. 28 editorial cartoon depicting President Obama’s limousine being stopped by an elephant dressed as a policeman and holding a paper saying “impeach Obama” was, at best, very poor taste and, at worst, a very racist, stereotypical, media bandwagon illustration of what seems to be the tactic of the political far left.
In the cartoon, the elephant is saying the charge is “being president while black.” I do not believe that all Republicans are right or that all Democrats are wrong. On the contrary, I find the mouthpieces of the far left or far right to be narcissistic, blowhards who love to hear the sound of their own voices. Shame on us for following their spew and letting them influence our views and opinions. Shame on us for letting them polarize our society! When did we stop thinking for ourselves? When did we stop caring about what is true, right and correct?
Shame on you! Shame on you, Herald, for perpetuating the spew! Shame on you!
