Police: Metal sheets stolen and then sold to recycling service

— Metal sheets from an air conditioning unit were stolen from the Rock Hill Machine Shop on Saluda Street, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The sheets were worth about $3,000, according to the report.

James Fanning of the machine shop notified local recycling services of the theft and Palmetto Recycling Service on Porter Road reported buying the three sheets, according to the report.

Police retrieved the sheets and returned them to Fanning, according to the report.
