Clover store robbed by masked, one-gloved gunman

September 7, 2013

— Deputies are searching for a masked gunman who robbed a clerk at a Clover convenience store at gunpoint Friday morning while wearing just one glove, according to a police report.

Around 1 a.m. Friday the suspect came into the Hot Spot store at 1915 U.S. 321 wearing dark clothing and a dark colored mask, a glove on his left hand, and a pistol in his right hand, according to a report from the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The store’s surveillance video showed the suspect “entered the store with his gloved hand,” then staked out the location of employees. The thief then rushed to the front of the store, ordered the clerk to empty the cash register while holding her at gunpoint, then fled outside to a silver vehicle with North Carolina tags.

The car headed north toward the nearby state line of North Carolina.

No arrests have been made.
