ROCK HILL — A Rock Hill police officer is being treated at Piedmont Medical Center after being involved in a wreck around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the middle of Constitution Boulevard and Cherry Road.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the collision -- a standard procedure whenever a law enforcement officer is involved in a vehicle accident while in a patrol car.
The male undercover officer injured in the crash was on duty and driving an unmarked 2013 Dodge Charger, said Mark Bollinger, police spokesman.
The department is not releasing the officer's name at this time, he said.
The Charger's airbag deployed when the collision happened, and the officer was taken to PMC by ambulance.
A woman driving the other car involved in the wreck was taken to a hospital by her family.
