High schools: Bearcats, Falcons, Trojans earn volleyball wins

The Rock Hill volleyball team earned a 3-0, Region 3-AAAA win against York on Tuesday.

The Bearcats won 25-9, 25-9, and 25-18.

Leading players – Rock Hill: Sutton Alexander, 6 kills; Holly Hamilton, 4 kills; Christen Bragg, 14 assists; Gracie Barnes, 6 aces.

York: Nora Childers, 6 kills; Taylr Sharp - 3 kills.

Records: York 0-3, 0-1 in Region 3-AAAA

Nation Ford 3, Lancaster 0: The Falcons won three close games by scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-22 to defeat the Bruins in a Region 3-AAAA match-up.

Leading players – Nation Ford: Jessica Kemp, 10 kills, 4 blocks; Lexi Mitchell, 7 kills, 8 digs; Olivia Tawse, 7 kills, 3 blocks.

Northwestern 3, South Pointe 0: The Trojans swept past the Stallions, 25-12, 25-16, and 25-20 in a Region 3-AAAA match.

Leading players – Northwestern: J. Panas, 9 kills; A. Johnson, 6 kills, 3 blocks; M. Culp, 15 assists, L. David, 9 digs.

Covenant Christian 3, Westminster Catawba 1: Covenant Christian broke a 1-all tie by winning the last two sets and topped Westminster Catawba by scores of

25-21, 17-25, 25-12, and 25-12

Leading players – Westminster Catawba: Emily Oliver, 12 kills; Julia Scott, 13 digs; Hunter Moxely, 23 assists.

Girls’ tennis

Clover 5, Fort Mill 2: The Blue Eagles won three singles matches and both doubles matches to beat the Yellow Jackets in a Region 3-AAAA match-up.

Girls Tennis

York 6, Chester 0: The Cougars won every match and defeated the Cyclones in nonregion action.

Heather Bomar, Heba Abdin, Kaitlyn Felske, Kaitlin Pruitt, and Mikayla Madden all won singles victories in straight sets, while Shelby Bailey and Brook Lester teamed up to win the only doubles match played.

Lancaster 4, Indian Land 2: The Bruins won their second straight match with a nonregion victory over the Warriors.
