Police detained a 13-year-old boy on Wednesday afternoon after a fight broke out on a Rock Hill school bus.

Two boys, ages 13 and 11, began fighting when the younger child refused the older boy’s demand to get out of his seat, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The accounts the boys gave to police differed, but both said that the 11-year-old was thrown out of his seat when he refused to get out and then punches flew.

The fight might have started when one child pestered the other about having gotten into trouble at school earlier in the day, the report states.

The 11-year-old suffered injuries to his head and eye.

The 13-year-old was detained for assault and battery and will appear in Family Court.

Both boys were released to their parents.
