Wong grabs share of lead at suspended Tour Championship

Defending champion Eugene Wong fired a 6- under-par 66 on Friday to grab a share of the lead at the Tour Championship of Canada before play was suspended due to darkness.

Wong is tied with Mark Hubbard and first-round leader Trevor Murphy at Sunningdale Golf & Country Club's Championship Course.

Hubbard shot 67 to join Wong at 8-under-par 136, while Murphy finished just eight second-round holes before play was halted due to darkness.

George Bradford carded a 70 to move into a share of fourth place at 6-under. He stands alongside Andrew Parr and Alex Kang, who completed four and 12 holes, respectively.

At the end of this event, the top five players from the Order of Merit earn status on the Web.com Tour for next season.

Wong mixed and eagle, five birdies and a bogey during his second round to reach 8-under, while Hubbard countered his lone bogey with six birdies to meet the reigning champion there.

Murphy notched three birdies and a bogey after his 5:00 p.m. ET tee time to retain a share of the lead.

NOTES: The second round was suspended at 7:20 p.m. It will restart at 8:00 a.m. Saturday .. Hubbard is ranked sixth in the Order of Merit ... Order of Merit No. 1 Mackenzie Hughes is even-par through six second-round holes.
