— A Northwestern High School student was suspended and charged with marijuana possession after police say he and several friends used a soda can to smoke pot while skipping class on Wednesday.

At about 2:30 p.m., the school resource officer received a call from administrators that several students were skipping class at the Exxon gas station across the street, according to a Rock Hill police report. Police arrived and found the students.

They had cut a hole in the top of a soda can, police said, and were using it to smoke marijuana. Police searched the students and found a baggie of pot in one of the students’ backpacks.

The students were escorted back to school and suspended, the report states. The student, 15, with the pot in his backpack was charged with possession of marijuana and released to his father’s custody.
