CLOVER — A Clover man is accused of shooting another man in the groin during an argument over a moped Friday afternoon.
At about 3:15 p.m., police were called to reports of a shooting at 113 Queensgate Road, where they found a man, 22, suffering from a gunshot wound in his groin area, said Lt. Tanner Davis with the Clover Police Department.
The victim, Davis said, was sitting in a chair as family members tried to tend to his wounds. He was conscious, able to tell police what happened and answer questions.
EMS took him to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he was in stable condition Friday afternoon.
A York County Sheriff's Office K9 unit tracked the suspect, 19, to an apartment on Pinckney Street, Davis said. The suspect does not live there, police say, and told officers that he does not have a permanent address.
He has been taken into custody, but is not under arrest and has not been charged.
Police have learned that the suspect and the victim are acquaintances.
