A Rock Hill man was arrested Tuesday after a child abuse investigation stemming from a September incident, according to a report from the Rock Hill police department.

Officials with the York County Department of Social Services asked Rock Hill police to investigate after discovering a 3-year-old girl with bruises that looked like they were from a belt buckle, the report states. Investigators also learned a 5-year-old boy was pushed to the ground by his guardians, the report states.

Charles Lewis, 42, and the mother of the children, 42, were identified as the suspects in the incident.

After a nearly month-long investigation, Lewis was charged with unlawful conduct with a child. The mother was not charged, according to the report.
