ROCK HILL — A Clinton College student was arrested Friday after police say she stabbed another student in the arm during an argument outside a residence hall on campus.
Jasmine Smith, 19, of Marietta, Ga., has been charged with attempted murder, according to information released Friday night by Executive Officer Mark Bollinger of the Rock Hill Police Department. Smith was being held at the Rock Hill jail late Friday.
The female victim, also 19, has not been identified. She underwent surgery Friday at Piedmont Medical Center and was reported in stable condition late Friday, according to Bollinger.
According to police, at about 4 p.m. Friday, the two students got into an argument over stolen items from one of the rooms at the female residence hall at Clinton College. During the argument, Smith pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the right arm outside of the female dormitory. Friends drove the victim to PMC in a private car.
Smith turned herself in to police at about 8 p.m., police say. She will have a bond hearing Saturday.
