Orlando Coleman

— Police on Tuesday arrested a man they say left a Rock Hill girl “traumatized” when he fondled her two years ago.

On Sept. 10, a police detective met with the girl’s mother, who told him that Orlando “OJ” Coleman fondled her daughter in 2011, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The 6-year-old girl was playing on the tennis courts at Paces River Apartments when Coleman pulled her onto his lap and held her there, the report states. The girl, now 8, told her mother that Coleman touched her inappropriately.

The girl was able to get away, the report states, when other children began walking by.

Coleman recently moved into their same neighborhood, police reported, and the girl tried avoiding him and would shut down emotionally.

The girl’s mother told police her daughter did not want to report the incident to her parents because she is traumatized.

Police charged Coleman with second-degree criminal sexual conduct. On Wednesday, he was being held at the Rock Hill jail on a $26,000 bond.
