CHESTER — A Rock Hill woman died Wednesday night when she struck a utility pole while traveling in Chester County, authorities say.
Chester County coroner Terry Tinker identified the woman as Angelia Moss. He said she had "Chester ties."
At about 10:31 p.m., Moss, 42, was driving a 1995 GMC Yukon northbound on S.C. 72, about 4 miles outside of Chester's city limits, when she went off the right side of the road and hit the pole, said Lance Cpl. Billy Elder with the Highway Patrol.
It appeared that Moss died from trauma to the head, Tinker said. She was wearing a seat belt.
