YORK — Three children were taken to area hospitals Sunday night after the car they were passengers in struck a tree and overturned on a York highway Sunday night, authorities say.
At about 6:54 p.m., Kimberly Michelle Bolin, 24, of Sharon, was driving a 2001 four-door Lexus south on S.C. 324 when she lost control of the car, said Lance Cpl. Billy Elder with the Highway Patrol. The car ran off the left side of the road, hit a tree and then overturned.
Four children were passengers, Elder said. Two of them were 5-year-old girls, one was an 8-year-old girl and one was a boy, 4.
Everyone, including Bolin, was taken to the hospital, except for one of the 5-year-old girls, Elder said. Their conditions were not available.
The Highway Patrol has charged Bolin with driving too fast for conditions.
