3 Eagles basketball players sidelined with injuries

November 2, 2013

Winthrop men's basketball head coach Pat Kelsey announced Saturday that Keon Moore, Derrick Henry and Duby Okeke are injured and will not start the 2013-14 season starts next weekend.

Moore, a redshirt junior, recently underwent knee surgery and will miss three to six weeks. Moore, a 6-foot-5 guard, was stepping into the shooting guard role vacated by Henry, who was the Eagles leading scorer in 2012-13. Henry had surgery in March of 2013 to repair a torn ACL and it is questionable whether he will return this season. Okeke, a 6-foot-8 center, suffered a broken leg in early October and his return is set for late November, early December.
