A horse needed to be tranquilized when it became entangled in a fence after being scared by juveniles running through a yard, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Late Friday night, police arrived at a home on Landry Lane to break up a loud party where underage drinking had been reported, the report stated. When police got to the home, several juveniles ran from the house across the yards of several neighbors.

When officers went looking for the people who had run away, they found a horse caught in a fence after being startled by the people running through the yard.

Police contacted the horse’s owner and a veterinarian was called to tranquilized the horse so it could be untangled. It is not known if the horse suffered any injuries.

At the party, officers found that a 17-year-old had hosted the party while his parents were out for the night. Several juveniles were issued citations for underage drinking.
