Dead birds found ‘posed’ in Rock Hill neighborhood

Police went to the Laurel Creek neighborhood in Rock Hill on Sunday morning when a woman reported finding dead birds in the community.

The woman told The Herald her son and a friend had discovered the birds the night before while on a walk in a gazebo area in the neighborhood. The next day, they were still there, so she called police.

“It was the creepiest thing ever,” the woman said, calling the scene “disturbing.”

About 10 black birds had been placed on chairs by an unknown person, the report states. Two were hanging from their necks on both armrests of one chair.

An officer saw multiple holes in the birds and removed them after taking pictures.
