A Rock Hill man assaulted his 10-year old niece while he was intoxicated on Friday night, according to a police report.

Police were called after Dennis Erby, 51, punched his niece, 10, while “very drunk,” the report states.

The girl’s sister told police Erby walked into the kitchen, cursing loudly. He then called the young girl “fat” and punched her in the eye, knocking her off a stool on which she was sitting.

The sister said the uncle was so out of control, she had to use pepper spray on him, according to the report.

Erby was charged with assault and battery and taken to the Rock Hill City Jail.
